Below article is the work of u/loveanalytics, originally published on Sorare‘s channel on Reddit. To access his original Beautiful Data post, please follow this link : The Beautiful Data #3: Player Popularity
This week, we’ll take a look at player popularity in Sorare. This is going to be less data-heavy compared to previous posts.
Most followed players
We start by looking at the most followed players on Sorare. Unsurprisingly, this list consists of mostly star players. Also, all these players have cards available to buy on the platform.
Most searched player
Now let’s take a look at what managers are searching for on the search bar (found at the top right). This includes searches done in the last 3 months.
We see Messi topping the charts! Although he doesn’t make the top 10 most followed players, it seems people are interested to check in to see his scores, or perhaps to check if we have cards available for him.
Danilo and Ito are 2 less popular players that make the list, thanks to their excellent SO5 contributions this season.
Most appearances in hall of fame
We take a look at players that appear the most in the hall of fame found in a user’s gallery and include common cards as well first.
We see here that common GKs Courtois and Alisson are the top, as they come in handy to fill the GK common spots in D4.
Now let’s include only blockchain cards and exclude commons.
Interestingly, we see Insigne appearing at the top here, with Belgium league trio Vanaken, Bongonda and Ito following suit.
Most appearances in squads
Here, we take a look at players that feature the most in Manager’s Squads (Squads tab) found in their gallery.
It seems a lot of you are creating Squads for your U23 collections.
Most appearances in Best 5 formations
We finish with the players that appear the most in Best 5 formations
These players have been scoring consistently well throughout the season, which is why they have appeared the most here. If you’d like to read more about players scoring consistently, you can check out the second post of this series.
